Meet Dr. Joseph Hayes

Comprehensive Physical Therapy PC's Dr. Joseph Hayes is a New York State licensed physical therapist. Dr. Hayes received his undergraduate degree at The University of Pennsylvania and his physical therapy degree from Touro College in New York. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at The Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. He was board certified in orthopedics in 2000 by the American Physical Therapy Association and recertified in 2010.

 

Dr. Hayes is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Touro College. He lectures on kinesiology, biomechanics, physical therapy examination techniques and physical therapy orthopedic examination and treatment. He has been a faculty member for 15 years. Dr. Hayes has lectured for the Long Island and Staten Island districts of the New York Physical Therapy Association on orthopedic injuries and rehabilitation. He has presented original research at the New York Physical Therapy Associations Annual Conference and lectured at the 2006 International Sun Conference on Teaching and Learning in Texas. Dr. Hayes recently had an article published in the American Physical Therapy Association’s Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy entitled: “The Effect of a Home-Based Program on Balance Confidence, Balance Performance, and Gait in Debilitated, Ambulatory Community-Dwelling Older Adults: A Pilot Study”.

 

Dr. Hayes has lectured at Suffolk Community College on shoulder injuries and total knee and hip replacements; St. Charles Hospital to Medical Residents on kinesiology and in the transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Touro College on Diagnostic Imaging in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy.

 

Dr. Hayes is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, The American Arthritis Foundation and The New York Physical Therapy Association. A physical therapist with a special interest in orthopedic rehabilitation, Dr. Hayes also conducts research that focuses on orthopedic examination and treatment.

 

Dr. Hayes has been a member of the Commack community with 25-plus years of experience. As the director of Comprehensive Physical Therapy PC, he has ensured that the most up-to-date and excellent physical therapy care is available to the community.

Michael Marinucci

Introducing Michael Marinucci

Mr. Marinucci earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from Central Michigan University in 1988, his Master's Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan in 1990, and his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University in 1998.

 

He worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for 10 years in both clinical and high school settings in Michigan, Minnesota, and New Jersey before returning to Central Michigan University to earn his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy in 1998.

 

Among some of his experiences, he has volunteered at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, the United States Olympic Festivals in Los Angeles 1991 and St. Louis 1994, working with the U.S. Water Polo Association both times. He traveled to Europe with U.S. Junior National Luge Team 1990. Mr. Marinucci has been working at Comprehensive Physical Therapy since 1999.

 

Mr. Marinucci is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the New York Physical Therapy Association, and the National Athletic Trainers Association.
